Well my original intention with this blog was to share weekly advice with teachers. But as they say, "LIFE HAPPENS".
Some professional hurdles and a medical one got in the way of weekly advice.

But now I am on the mend and here is the first weekly installment. Now for those of you who didn't know, I had an infection
in my dominant hand (right). They had to operate and as a result my business and life were thrown for a loop. But during
this time I had to persevere. You see many think being "your own boss" is a real treat. It is unless you can't work....then you
have that unfortunate trend called NO INCOME!

To deal with my situation I learned how to a lot of things with my left hand. In fact, for about 4 weeks I actually designed a
show with one handed effects. Everyday tasks became incredibly difficult. So what is my point? During this challenging
time I kept my spirits up by remembering stories of other people who overcame incredible obstacles to meet their goals.

What about bringing this to the classroom. What about sharing stories of individuals who overcame great obstacles to
make their dreams come true. Maybe during a quiet study time just tell the incredible stories of Abraham Lincoln (the
long road to the Whitehouse), James Earl Jones (stuttering problem), Wilma Rudolph (Weak legs of an Olympian), there
are hundreds of these stories. Your students will have a catalog of people who persevered.

After all the real lesson is NEVER GIVE UP!!
